We are long overdue for an update on what is going on with The Color Group right now. For those that aren't aware, we've shifted our focus toward becoming a record label this year. We've been busy preparing for several new releases from acts we love and we can't wait to release them to you.

St Ranger just got back two weeks ago from their first Western US tour. During the final stretch through California they recorded five tracks at Layercake Studios which will make up their debut record, Life Coach, which we hope to release in November. The songs are in the early stages of production and are already sounding awesome. They're still playing several shows around the Valley before their release show in a few months; you can stay posted on their performances on their website or by liking them on Facebook here.

Owl & Penny has been in the studio with engineer James McInnes, working on his long awaited third release, Milk & Sugar. Although there is not yet a concrete date, we hope to have the album out by the end of fall 2011. Catch Owl & Penny playing frequently around town in the coming months, as well as branching out into the Southwest to play more dates around California, Arizona, and Utah. To stay updated on the Milk & Sugar release and other Owl & Penny news, check out the Owl & Penny Facebook page & Twitter!

More news about The Constellation Branch and upcoming shows coming very soon!

We still have some pretty exciting things happening at The Color Group at the start of this year. First, however, we want to say thank you to all who came out to our first RJM & Friends Festival on January 16th at the Paisley Violin! We had a great amount of people out to see all fourteen amazing bands and support Ear Candy.

Our friends in Small Leaks Sink Ships are finally releasing Oak Street Basement EP today! This is the follow-up to their debut album, which came out in 2007. The band has been working hard to release their second full length (which comes out later this year), but they are putting out an EP first to show everyone what they have been working on all this time. You can order the EP here.

St Ranger has also been busy. They put out their Winter Session EP, a live recording of their set which you can download for free here, on January 1st. Live videos were also shot of the recordings, and you can watch all of those here. They will also be heading on tour through Arizona and Southern California in February with Wild Pack of Canaries (from Long Beach) and Underground Cities. You can view the dates on their website. Their debut album is coming this summer!

Finally, Owl & Penny has been working on some recordings and we will have some news on a new album in the near future!

We finally launched our new website! We are really excited about this and a few other newsworthy items going on this fall.

First, The Constellation Branch's new EP, Mirage, was just released in late September. If you haven't yet, visit their website to take a listen to and purchase it.

Also, Courtney Marie Andrews is currently on tour with Jimmy Eat World (she sang on five songs on their new album, which also came out in late September), but she is releasing her newest album, For One I Knew, in early 2011. The full album is streaming online here.

Finally, Small Leaks Sink Ships are finishing up their newest album, and we will have more information on that coming soon.

More news coming soon; thanks for checking out the website!
